What's New in 2023?
The 2023 Hyundai Elantra receives several minor changes for the new model year. First, the manual transmission option is removed for the N Line model, and the SEL Premium Package is gone too. Also, a new Convenience Package for the N Line and SEL trims is available. This optional package has a standard 10.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a 10.3-inch infotainment display. And the SEL Convenience Package receives 17-inch wheels.
Engine
There are two engine options for the Hyundai Elantra, not including the Hybrid powertrains.
- 2.0-liter four-cylinder
- Turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder
Performance
The standard nonhybrid Elantra powertrain is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that outputs 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque for the SE and SEL models. The sportier N-Line has a dual-clutch transmission and uses a Turbocharged 1.6-liter engine to push out 201 hp and 132 pound-feet of torque.
Design
The interior of the Elantra is positively futuristic. The dashboard and center console wrap around the driver, while the passenger's side takes a more minimalist approach. A single LED strip follows the air vent across the car's width from the steering column to the passenger's-side door panel to make for some nice ambient lighting.
Technology
Across its various trims, drivers will find a standard eight-inch center display and analog gauges. But an optional 10.3-inch digital gauge display and a larger 10.3-inch infotainment touchscreen are available. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both standard, as is a Wi-Fi connection. A voice-recognition feature is also here, allowing for the ability to adjust the climate control or the heated seats with simple voice commands.
Safety
The Hyundai Elantra has always been rated high regarding safety - the 2023 model is no exception. Automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection and lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist come standard. While adaptive cruise control with a lane-centering feature is available in higher trims.
