What's New for 2023?

The latest Ioniq 5 only receives minor changes. Now, Mahwah drivers will find a battery heating system and preconditioning function that comes standard on all models. Towing on the SEL and Limited trims gets boosted to 2,300 pounds. And models with all-wheel drive now have an estimated 266 miles of range.

Engine

With no traditional engine, Mahwah, NJ drivers will find two battery options to power the Ioniq 5. There's a battery pack with 58 kWh of capacity and one with a 77.4-kWh pack.

Performance

The base trim of the Ioniq 5 is paired with a single, rear-mounted electric motor and a 58-kWh battery pack to generate 168 horsepower and 220 miles of range. All other models use a 77.4-kWh battery pack to generate 225 horsepower and 303 miles of range. Rear-wheel drive is standard, but all-wheel drive is available. And with all-wheel drive, drivers can travel 266 miles on a single charge.

Design

The Ioniq 5's interior is quite tech-savvy as it uses a digitized dashboard. There's also a head-up display with augmented reality to project navigation directions on the windshield. Also, the front seats recline and incorporate footrests to allow drivers to relax while the Ioniq is charging.

The compact crossover also takes advantage of its all-electric packaging, as its flat floor maximizes passenger and cargo space. Its large center console has lots of storage space.

Technology

The Ioniq 5 emphasizes connected living with its innovative features. Drivers will find a 12.0-inch touchscreen, and a 12.0-inch digital gauge cluster is now standard. While the infotainment system offers advanced voice-recognition software and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
