When it comes to reasonably priced SUVs, the Hyundai Tucson is one of the best. This model has a starting price under $30,000 and offers a comfortable ride, plenty of amenities, and a lot of helpful technology. If you want a spacious SUV with an upscale feel and easy on the wallet, you're sure to enjoy the Hyundai Tucson and what its 2024 model has in store.
Whatās New for 2024?
Having undergone a redesign and with the release of the off-road-centric XRT in 2022, the 2024 Tucson isn't expected to receive many changes. The changes coming to the new Tucson model include removing its optional Premium package from the SEL model. Now all its contents have been distributed to other trim levels.
Now, the N-Line trims will come with a panoramic sunroof as standard equipment. And all XRT trims and higher will receive a new 10.3-inch infotainment screen.
Performance
Under the hood of the new Hyundai Tucson are three powertrain options. A 2.5-liter 187-hp four-cylinder engine comes standard. It's attached to an eight-speed automatic transmission and utilizes front or all-wheel drive.
Upgrade to the hybrid model, and drivers will receive a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that outputs 226 horsepower. While the same engine will power the plug-in hybrid, it will output 261 hp. All-wheel drive will be standard with an electric powertrain, and both models are equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission.
Interior
The cabin of the Tucson has always been simple but modern. And the 2024 model is the same, with a meticulously designed interior loaded with upscale materials and features.
You'll find a digital gauge display, push-button shifter, and touch-sensitive control panel when sitting behind the wheel. This updated model also offers better passenger comfort and functionality thanks to its larger cargo room and rear seat space.
Speaking of cargo space, the new Tucson offers plenty of room behind the rear seats, especially in the hybrid model. Upon testing, it was found the Tucson Hybrid can carry about nine carry-on bags. But with the seats folded flat, that number is increased to 22.
Technology
There is currently no information about what new technology, if any, is being added to the Hyundai Tucson. But we do expect the current amenities to stay the same. Customers can still expect to find an 8.8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard equipment. Though, a larger 10.3-inch display with built-in navigation is optional. Additional optional features include the SiriusXM satellite radio and an upgraded Bose stereo system.
Higher trims include Hyundai's digital lock smartphone app. This app allows owners to lock and unlock the vehicle and start the Tucson remotely.
Safety
As with the Tucson technology, there is no information about the model's safety features. But if any are included, they'll be added to the Tucson's already impressive list of advanced driver-aids.
Standard safety features include driver attention warning, forward collision mitigation, lane keeping assistance, adaptive cruise control, and a rear seat reminder. Purchase a higher trim, however, and you'll find a blind-spot warning with a rear cross-traffic alert, a lane-keeping system, and a surround-view camera system.
